.forgotten. by poetically-pathetic .forgotten. by poetically-pathetic
One day I wrote her name upon the strand,
  But came the waves and washed it away;
    Agayne I wrote it with a second hand,
      But came the tyde and made my paynes his prey.

--Edmund Spenser, Sonnet LXXV

Amazing concept sweetheart. i have to disagree with the others, i don't think her pose or expression looks lonely at all. in fact just the opposite. She seemed to be at peace, and content when she was captured this way. i love how the sand seems to be brushed away around the bottom of it, exposing a floor of possibly a whole different place or world that use to be there. it makes me think the ocean hasn't always been there...there was something before it, and the staute just seems like shes waiting to be discovered again...
just my silly mind in overdrive...
it's beautiful!

:wow: Gorgeous piece! You just get better all the time! I love the way the statues color almost matches the ocean. I think the most wonderful thing is the way the statue really does look sad or lonely, but the sky and water are so bright and happy. It's like the rest of the world goes on without her. Beautiful work!

This is a beautiful image! I agree with white-wolfen, the statue really does symbolize lonliness just from the pose and the colors work so well together! Wonderful job!! :D

The poem is the perfect touch to this piece. :) I like how parts of the sand are over the statue, like it used to be there. And the statue itself seems to symbolize lonliness and just seems to be forgotten and left to fend for itself, so to speak. Wonderful composition. *luvs your work so much* :clap: Keep it up!
