i lie in silence on a night with no moon
as the waves crash upon your distant shore
sadly sighing as my empty arms imagine your warmth
desperately longing for you to sail home
singing lullabies to my thoughts of you
reaching into the darkness to cling to your light
when my strength fails, yours fills
but apart we were not meant to be
an eternal promise in everlasting love
soon nothing shall separate us
and we'll lie in silence under a silver moon
as the waves crash upon our shore

for those of you that don't know, i have been on dA since Jan. 2003 ... i have had to switch accounts for various reasons, but generally speaking, i am a poet. heh ... hard to tell by my gallery! my old accounts had mostly poetry. but all have been deleted.

anyway ... i was glad to be able to form something resembling a poem. seems my poetic muse likes to go on holiday a lot.

no, i never capitalise or punctuate ~ i've been writing this way for 17 years. leave me alone.
